2015 Hawaii Island Archaeological Field School

The Anthropology Departments of the University of New Mexico and the University of Hawaii at Mānoa will co-sponsor the Hawaii Historical and Archaeological Field School in Windward North Kohala, Hawai‘i Island. This is a four week intensive program, June 1-26, designed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students who seek an introduction to Hawaiian history and culture as well as historical and archaeological field and archival research methods. This training program emphasizes the conservation of cultural and historic properties, especially pertaining to traditional Hawaiian agricultural features, as part of field archaeology.
