Hope Casareno, Ethnology graduate student, has received an Institute for American Indian Research (IFAIR) grant for pilot research in support of her dissertation research on the notion of collaboration and the role of traditional knowledge in California Indian communities through a lens of climate change. She will use the funding to travel to California where she will conduct interviews, facilitate workshops, and attend events to learn about issues of interest to  communities. Through her dissertation research, she hopes to co-produce readily accessible and locally contextualized artifacts about climate change and adaptation strategies with the goal of contributing to the security and resurgence of communities.
