Katie Williams receives an Institute for American Indian Research (IFAIR) Award and a Center for Regional Studies Fellowship

Katie Williams, Archaeology graduate student, has been awarded an Institute for American Indian Research (IFAIR) grant for her dissertation research on the organization of architectural production at Navajo National Monument.  She will use the funding for travel to study the construction of households and community structures, including comparing the plaster episodes and chemistry to identify differences in construction groups.

Katie also received a Center for Regional Studies Graduate Fellowshipfor her dissertation research on the organization of architectural labor focusing on two cliff dwellings in the US Southwest.  She will compare how labor was organized to build houses vs communal structures.
