Deconstructing "Apache" Identity: Moving Beyond the Apache Image of the Nineteenth Century

On Tuesday, November 28 at 2 pm, Marcus Macktimawill present his talk Deconstructing "Apache" Identity: Moving Beyond the Apache Image of the Nineteenth Century in the Frank Waters Room in Zimmerman Library.  Hosted by the UNM Center for the Southwest, this event is free and open to the public.

Marcus Macktima is Assistant Professor of History at Northern Arizona University and a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe in Eastern Arizona.  The event is co-sponsored by the Departments of History, American Studies, Native American Studies and Anthropology as well as the Sustainability Studies Program, the Transformation Network, and the Institute for American Indian Research.
