45th JAR Distinguished Lecture

The 45th JAR Distinguished Lecture will be held on Thursday, November 9th at 7:30 pm in Anthropology Room 163. Our guest lecturer is Dr. Elizabeth Ferry who is a Professor of Anthropology at Brandeis University, and her lecture is entitled: Royal Roads and Golden Mountains: Mining Metals and Making Value.
Dr. Ferry will also deliver a lunchtime seminar on Friday, November 10th in Anthropology Room 248 at 12:00 pm. The title of this lecture is: Materiality and Value in Gold Markets: Mexico, Colombia, and the UK.
Both lectures are free and open to the public.
For those who are interested in meeting with Dr. Ferry, there is a signup sheet for meeting times at the front desk of the Anthropology Department office. Each meeting time is 30 minutes, but if you meet as a group a longer period can be taken. Please do not overlook this opportunity to meet with this distinguished guest!
