On Monday, September 30 at 7 PM in Anthropology 163, Dr. Omar Bartov will present his talk Speaking of Genocide:
The Holocaust, Israel-Palestine, and the War in Gaza since October 7.  
This event is free and open to the public.

Omer Bartov is the Samuel Pisar Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Brown University, Bartov is an historian of the Holocaust and is considered one of the world's leading authorities on genocide.  Recent books include Anatomy of a Genocide: The Life and Death of a Town Called Buczacz (2018), which won the National Jewish Book Award; Tales from the Borderlands: Making and Unmaking the Galician Past (2022), and Genocide, The Holocaust and Israel-Palestine: First-Person History in Times of Crisis (2023). Dr. Bartov has named the Israeli campaign in Gaza a genocide, and has written supportively of the post-October 7 student movement.
