Last year, Samantha Bomkamp joined a group of intrepid Crow Canyon explorers to Casas Grandes, Mexico (also known as Paquimé), where she experienced a first hand look at the ceramic art produced in the region, now and in centuries past. Join Samantha as she discusses her thesis on Casas Grandes pottery produced in northern Mexico.
Samantha, a former Crow Canyon intern, will discuss her research on Casas Grandes ceramics and how her travel seminar to Chihuahua, Mexico with Crow Canyon last year helped put ceramics in their geographic context. Samantha received her M.S. in Anthropology in May from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee, where she also studied Museum Studies and Nonprofit Management. Her thesis focused on Casas Grandes (Chihuahua, Mexico) vessels held at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Samantha is a practicing archaeologist and museum professional
