Alum Dr. James Davenport appointed Academic Research Scientist in the Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR)

Dr. James Davenport (UNM PhD, 2021) has been appointed Academic Research Scientist in the Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) in Columbia, MO. He will be collaborating with researchers worldwide to conduct Neutron Activation Analysis on archaeological pottery. He will also be working with the compositional analysis of other archaeological materials including obsidian, chert, pigments, and glass using XRF, LA-ICP-MS, and Raman Spectroscopy. Dr. Davenport served as the Archaeology Laboratory Director at Augustana University in 2021-2022.
