Dr. Emily L. Jones Promoted to Full Professor

Dr. Emily L. Jones, UNM Regents' Lecturer, has been promoted to Full Professor. Dr. Jones joined the department in 2012 and is the Director of the Public Archaeology Program as well as the Zooarchaeology Lab. Her research focuses on human-environment interactions, historical biogeography, zooarchaeology, animal domestication and human adaptation, public archaeology and community outreach. Most recently, she published her co-authored book on environmental change in the Americas following European colonization (Questioning Rebound, from the University of Utah Press); has continued the Horses and Human Societies in the North American West project (with the recent publication in Science); and has continued work on the last Neanderthal refugia on the Iberian Peninsula with a recent publication in the Journal of Human Evolution.
