Dr. Keith Hunley has been appointed Associate Dean for Social Sciences & Interdisciplinary Departments in the UNM College of Arts and Sciences.  Dr. Hunley is an Evolutionary Anthropologist who joined the faculty in 2004.  He served as Associate Chair from 2017-2019 and was appointed Department Chair in 2019. He has also served as Director of the Undergraduate Committee, and is a member of the Alfonso Ortiz Center for Intercultural Studies Advisory Board.

Dr. Sherry Nelson, who has served as Associate Chair since 2021, has been appointed Interim Department Chair.
