"...will yield a cadre of tenured faculty who have gained additional national recognition with increased intellectual engagement and job satisfaction.  In addition, the LIFT program will improve UNM’s institutional reputation and research profile that will assist in faculty recruitment and retention as well as student recruitment.  Participation in the program will also generate more tenured faculty who are better positioned to lead complex research projects and programs as well as to mentor pre-tenure faculty and students.  Finally, faculty participating in LIFT will create new programs and initiatives that exponentially grow UNM’s research enterprise."
