Genevieve Woodhead Awarded an NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant

Genevieve Woodhead  has been awarded an NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant for her project entitled, The Effect of Local-Newcomer Interactions on Ceramic Practice in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico.  Genevieve will use the  award to examine stability and change in communities of practice among migrant potters from the Mesa Verde area and local Chaco Canyon potters using a suite of techniques including x-radiography and petrography.
