The Society for American Archaeology has awarded Archaeology Doctoral student Jacque Kocer the 2019 Arthur C. Parker Scholarship for Archaeological Training for Native Americans and Native Hawaiians.  Named for the SAA's first president, who was of Seneca ancestry, the $6000 award will help defray the costs of her ongoing dissertation research on communities of practice and communities of identity for the prehispanic archaeological "culture" known as the Gallina in New Mexico. Jacque will be given the award at the SAA Business meeting on April 12 starting at 5 pm in the Kiva Auditorium at the ABQ Convention Center.
