Research:
Genevieve Woodhead is an archaeologist and ceramicist working with US Southwest potters and pottery to understand place-based interaction and material culture change. She traces how Pueblo and Ancestral Pueblo pottery production and use has changed in response to population movement and migration. She works primarily in museum collections or in laboratory settings (e.g., with petrography, geochemistry, and microscopy) but also collaborates with contemporary Pueblo potters on field-based clay sourcing projects and landscape archaeology. Woodhead is a Postdoctoral Fellow at William & Mary, where she teaches and mentors students and helps with the management and study of the William & Mary Anthropology Collections.
