Dr. Osbjorn Pearson has been promoted to the rank of Professor in the UNM Department of Anthropology.  Dr. Pearson is a member of the Evolutionary Anthropology subfield and the Archaeology subfield.  His research focuses on paleoanthropology, the origin of modern humans, skeletal biology, functional morphology, and quantitative methods with a geographical focus on Europe and Africa. 

Dr. Siobhan Mattison  has been promoted to the rank of Associate Professor with tenure in the department.  Dr. Mattison is a member of the Evolutionary Anthropology subfield.  Her research focuses on kinship, parenting, reproduction, social inequality, human behavioral ecology, demography, and mixed methods with a geographical focus on Vanuatu and China.
